BIGBABYGUCCI has been tearing up the underground scene for the better part of eight years. Putting out 13 full-length projects since his start in 2016, the 25-year-old rapper’s consistency and work ethic are certainly next level in his own right.
Constantly pumping out new music — and boasting over 440,000 Spotify monthly listeners — the North Carolina native is evidently on the brink of breaking into the mainstream. BIGBABYGUCCI’s most recent project Soda & Syrup (May 18) is not only an 11-track offering full of infectious melodies, video game synths, and vibrating bass patterns, but is packed to the brim with uncharted energy only found within GUCCI’s soundscape.
Continuing the success of the record, GUCCI released the official video for “Living with Passion” on Tuesday (July 12) — the standout intro off Soda & Syrup. Directed by Dallas native Reel Bump, the “run-and-gun” footage follows Gucci as he rocks out to the track in a downtown setting, in front of a white backdrop and in a room full of vinyl records.
Reel Bump incorporates classic GUCCI heat by mapping edits and glitch video effects into each camera shot. The Dallas-based videographer captures GUCCI’s branding and image perfectly with these effects, as the rapper is known for vibrant acidic colors that can be found on most of his cover art.
It’s always exciting to see what BIGBABYGUCCI has in store and how he’s able to push his image in music videos like “Living with Passion.”
