Crew League Finals: OHB, Chris Brown vs. Section 8, Pardi

Pardison Fontaine and Chris Brown go head-to-head for Crew League Season 2 championship.

Chris Brown’s OHB team knocked off Section 8 and Pardi in the championship game 22-20. After Breezy opened the game with two quick 2-pointers, Section 8 jumped out to a 15-8 lead. OHB’s Isaiah Briscoe led the late comeback as they snatched the crown when it was all said and done. In the postgame presser, Brown took the opportunity to call out rapper and basketball savant Quavo to dethrone OHB.

It all comes down to this. The Crew League’s second season sees Chris Brown‘s OHB team face off against Pardison Fontaine‘s Section 8 team for the $200,000 prize. The championship game tips off tonight, Friday July 16 at 5 p.m. PST / 8 p.m. ET on REVOLT TV.

This season of The Crew League features commentators Druski, Jack Harlow and Buster Scher, with guest appearances from Guapdad 4000 and BIA. The sideline reporter is former NBA icon Glen “Big Baby” Davis.

The rules for each game are 4-on-4 competition, first to 21 points wins scored by 1s and 2s. The winning team must win by 2 points, and there are two halves, where the first half ends when whichever team reaches 11 first. Each team captain is allowed one iso call per game, where they can isolate a defender and run one 1-on-1 play.

OHB’s team consists of basketball trainer/influencer Alan Palesano, better known as White Iverson, current NBA G-League professional basketball player Isaiah Briscoe, NFL’s Indianapolis Colts tight end Mohammed Alie-Cox and a handful of overseas professional basketball players.

Section 8’s team revolves around its star, former NBA New York Knicks player Cleanthony Early. Pardi himself actually played Division II basketball in college in Delaware.

Both of these teams, with loaded rosters, fought through a tough bracket to get to this point.

In round 1, OHB torched Jason Derulo‘s “The DOGS” team, in what Jack Harlow referred to as “the battle for king of R&B.” Briscoe let off a barrage of 2 point shots to help OHB coast to a 21-10 victory.

Chris Brown and OHB would then face Tyga‘s “Kings of the Summer” team in the semi-finals. Kings of the Summer’s roster includes rapper YK Osiris who did not log a single minute played, basketball influencer Tristan Jass, Youtuber Austin McBroom and coached by famous basketball trainer Lethal Shooter. They squeaked by in the first round in a competitive game against G-Eazy‘s “The Tycoons” team.

OHB knocked off Kings of the Summer because of their dynamic trio of Briscoe and Breezy in the backcourt and big man Alex Tchikou in the frontcourt. Kings of the Summer’s Tyrell Andrews and Isaiah Wright put up a great effort, with Wright nailing a potential game-wing 2 pointer, but had his foot out-of-bounds. Chris Brown would end up knocking down two game-winning free throws for the 23-21 win.

Section 8 knocked off DDG‘s team “NY All Stars,” originally meant to have captain Rich the Kid. NY All Stars had NBA icon Nick Young, better known as Swaggy P. But, Cleanthony Early and Section 8 handled business with a 22-18 victory. DDG said in the postgame interview, “Pardi’s team gonna be put out next round.” He would be wrong.

For the semi-final, Section 8 would face King Combs‘ CYN team who came off a thrilling victory over Rowdy Rebel‘s SHHH Gang team in the first round. With Bobby Shmurda there to support, and fellow rapper Fetty Luciano on the roster, SHHH Gang couldn’t win the “battle for king of NY,” as CYN won 22-19.

The Section 8 and CYN game was a nail-biter. CYN recruited a nasty frontcourt for their second game, with former NBA players Amir Johnson and Kenneth Faried. Still, Cleanthony Early dominated with 13 points, although he fouled out near the end of the game. After a game-winning 2-pointer was overturned to a 1-pointer for Section 8, they still sealed the deal 21-17 with Drake in attendance.

Tonight’s matchup is filled with NBA affiliated veterans, basketball’s most recognized influencer faces and two of the industry’s most popular names in Chris Brown and Pardison Fontaine. Check out the game showing on YouTube and REVOLT TV at 5 pm PST / 8 pm ET tonight.
