UnoTheActivist and DotCom Nirvan are no strangers to a “fire” collaboration, as their latest link-up “Repent (Next Move)” continues to assert the strength of the sound the underground has cultivated.
Uno — who’s riding the success of his joint mixtape with MadeinTYO — brings forth the fourth visual off Unoverse 3, the final installment of his 2021 album trilogy. With “Astral Plane,” “Make It Make Sense” and “Weak Hoes” all behind him, “Repent” sees Uno spit open truths along the track’s whiny rage synths and booming 808s. His latest single “Not One Of Dem” was met with viral acclaim on TikTok, taking over the platform for weeks before it dropped on DSPs in mid-January.
With comments like “Uno not letting up! This song is probably the best on the tape,” TheActivist continues his wildly impressive run over Nirvan’s immersive visual effects — experimenting with splashes of negative hues and a kaleidoscope of lava and fire. Uno keeps safe from the flames on a desolate platform, floating through ceaseless green, yellow and red flares as the Atlanta rapper breathes new life into his October 2021 release.
Repenting his sins for the destruction he’s caused, the track sees Uno plottting his next move, counting his blessings, thanking his fans and realizing that there’s always “pain in the process” of achieving your goals.
