Responsible for handling the careers of Post Malone, Tyga and more, former Billboard manager of the year and industry power player Dre London further embeds himself in the game by launching his record label, London Music Group.
Sitting down with Our Generation Music in August, London embodies the heart and soul of a musician, even if he’s on the other side of the business. As a refined executive for the better part of two decades, London’s label looks to make a splash in partnership with coveted music technology platform Vydia.
“I’m thrilled to partner with Vydia for the creation of London Music Group. Vydia’s work to empower independent music labels opens doors for incredible new artists to emerge, a mission we both share. This new venture will allow established artists to evolve exponentially into the future, as well as introduce top of the line new talent to the world.”
Dre London, Founder and CEO of London Music Group
Vydia is set provide London and his team the infrastructure and other resources to power the label, complete with a full suite of services that include audio and video supply chain, global distribution, analytics, rights management, detailed revenue reporting and more. Along with Vydia’s stake in the label, London’s digitally immersive concert platform AUX Live has allowed the longtime manager to remain versatile within every facet of the music industry.
Vydia and London’s relationship doesn’t start here, as the pair have previously worked together on the release of Post Malone’s smash-hit “White Iverson” in 2015, which went RIAA-certified 8X Platinum earlier this year.
“Dre has an innate ability to discover talent and create superstars on a global level. We’re excited to work with him and provide him the tools he needs across the board to run this new label.”
Roy LaManna, Vydia CEO & Co-Founder
To celebrate the launch, London Music Group has already put out its first single with R&B chart-toppers Mario and Chris Brown, as the duo linked up for their new track “Get Back” over the weekend (Oct 29).
