If you’ve been paying attention to who took off in the underground this year, VonOff1700 and Ian have been at the forefront of the wave.
Two of the fastest growing rappers of 2024 have been on a roll, both of which touting a viral song on TikTok, a new project, a Lyrical Lemonade music video and co-signs from multiple A-list artists. Now, the two internet-era prodigies combine their respective styles on a sliding drill anthem “Fit Check” (June 30).
Initially teasing the track on Instagram, “Fit Check” showcases Ian’s ability to craft catchy, rhythmic hooks that fans can easily sing along to (even over signature a Chicago drill beat). Von hops in with a laid-back sense of urgency and tenacity–barring out with his dynamic, effortless flow that complements the instrumental perfectly. Ian and Von also linked up for the “Fit Check” music video, as it features the pair rocking matching white tees and black pants casually hanging out.
The rise of both Ian and Von were evident in Ian’s pop-out performance during Lil Yachty‘s set at Summer Smash in Chicago. Alongside VALEDICTORIAN tracks like “Bentayga,” “Magic Johnson” and “Figure It Out,” Ian’s underground motion seemingly mirrors Von’s on the street-centric front. Von also recently checked in to our first-ever OGM Freestyle, coincidentally rapping over Yachty’s “Coffin.”
With more in common than you might think, Ian and VonOff’s “Fit Check” puts forth something fresh for all to stunt in.
