Jordan Ward shares deluxe to debut album ‘moreward(FORWARD)’

Jordan Ward’s 2023 has been quite unforgettable.

On top of co-signs from Tyler, The Creator, SZA, Smino, JID, J. Cole and many more, it seems as though the entire industry has taken notice of the St. Louis native’s undeniably contagious sound — and the personality that matches it.

Dropping the deluxe to his debut LP, moreward(FORWARD) on Friday (Aug. 25), Ward’s latest single “MUSTARD” featuring 6LACK was the deluxe’s hypnotic lead offering, as Ward’s pitched-up vocals mesh seamlessly with 6LACK’s sultry croons. “Zoomies” and “Webbie” featuring Easton Fitz were the deluxe’s two other additions, rounding out the 3-track continuation of FORWARD.

Alongside MOREWARD, Jordan is set to join 6LACK on the Atlanta star’s Since I Have A Lover tour later this year off the strength of his moving debut album. The record has become a mainstay on 2023 AOTY lists, and has found its way into the hearts of hip-hop and R&B heads clinging to the 28-year-old’s refreshingly nostalgic soundscape.

We caught up with Ward just weeks before he dropped FORWARD, saying that this record was “For WARD”: A staple for the future of his family. “I’m the youngest Ward, so everything I’m doing is for the future of my family,” he told us in his OGM exclusive interview. “My goal when I’m old is that I want to be big papa, a caretaker for everyone. I want everyone to come over for the holidays. I want to be the one to keep my family going.”

The “FAMJAM4000” singer coupled co-ops on JID and Smino’s “Luv is 4Ever Tour” with his first-ever headlining tour this past Spring. Moving TOURWARD with 6LACK in October, Jordan’s star has seemingly reached supernova.
