Juicy J & Wiz Khalifa set the streets ablaze with brand new mixtape ‘Stoner’s Night’

Two of hip-hop’s biggest tokers and legends of their own eras team once more for another stellar project.

Wiz Khalifa has been in the rap game for a little over a decade now, and throughout his career, he has delivered countless features, a handful of albums, and tons of mixtapes. The limitless range that Wiz pulls up with every time is unmatched, and his work ethic shows that he is one of the most consistent rappers in the game because of it.

Juicy J definitely deserves his flowers too, as he is one of the rappers who may have caught the best rebrand that a legacy act could have ever gotten. After his hit “Bands a Make Her Dance” took off in 2012, Juicy J entered the rap game to start what felt like a brand new career as a solo act, and has been able to maintain that momentum since then.

Kicking off the year on the right foot, Wiz and Juicy released a joint mixtape titled Stoner’s Night, in which the title does well at explaining itself. A tape full of bangers and turnt-up energy from the two stonified Taylor Gang members.

While some may assume that this tape would be full of the typical, slow-tempo stoner music, it feels as if Juicy J was heavily involved on the production sides of things, as there are tons of beats on the tape that fall in line with that classic Memphis sound that Three 6 Mafia popularized back in the day. On “Backseat,” Wiz carries on the chorus as he raps about his luxurious lifestyle and how he’s living in it, alongside a feature from the Memphis legend Project Pat.

Ridin’ in the backseat killin’ it, got my feet up

Bad shorty and she feelin’ it

I’m the realest n**** that she been with

I’m the realest n**** that she been with

N***** just talk, but I’m livin it

Wiz Khalifa — “Backseat”

For those who may not know, this is actually not the first time that Wiz and Juicy J have collaborated on a project before. Back in 2012, Wiz Khalifa released Taylor Allderdice, a mixtape in which Juicy J had a myriad of features on. In 2016, Wiz, Juicy J and Grammy-nominated producer TM88 released TGOD Mafia: Rude Awakening, which was the first time the two released an entire body of work with one another. Releasing the visual to “Weak” on Wednesday (Feb. 16), Juicy and Wiz continue to keep their chemistry alive nearly a decade after their initial tapes.

Stoner’s Night is no different, as the two compliment each other so well and create one cohesive project that mixes classic Memphis vibes with bragadocious lifestyle stories on each track.
