Lawsy isn’t overstaying his welcome on “Hotel.”
DotComNirvan has been on a relentless tear putting on the underground’s best and brightest over the last year. Dropping videos with Yeat, DC The Don, Midwxst, Trippie Redd and much more, Nirvan’s visual influence for the culture is a strong point for the new wave’s overarching appeal.
As Nirvan continues to uplift eventual underground stars, the latest of these talented newcomers is North Carolina native Lawsy — a self-proclaimed “sexxNB” singer with a penchant for laid-back, relaxed love-making tracks. His breakout hit “Hotel” has been blowing up on social media as of late — now dropping its theatrical music video via Nirvan’s curation.
Lawsy’s twanging vocals slide over the seductive instrumental as he croons not-so-subtle lyrics about his bedroom habits and lady problems. Alongside the suggestive lyrical content, the visuals showcase his love life as he kicks it with a couple of baddies before kicking them out of his hotel room.
2022 marks the second year of Lawsy’s music career as he drops single after single— building up his catalog and receiving praise from his peers and early fans alike. “Hotel” was released back in May, receiving “sped up” and “slowed + reverb” versions in the following months — all of which have ended up as his most streamed songs alongside his first hit “Partner In Crime.”
