Lil Yachty’s tear in 2024 has become more impenetrable by the day, refusing to let up on his latest single “SORRYNOTSORRY.”
Alongside our 2023 OGM MVP Veeze, Boat and Ganger slide over signature Detroit bounce and menacing yet triumphant melodies. The pair’s energy is not only contagious, but undeniable on “SORRYNOTSORRY” — leading to stank-face inducing head bobs and “oh sh*t” reactions to passed-off bars between one another.
It appears both Lil Yachty and longtime collaborator AMD have commandeered Lyrical Lemonade as of late. Appearing on the channel for the fourth time in the past three months, his latest was with rising star Ian for their viral track “Hate Me” in July, with a promo song “Lil Mega Minion” for the new Minions movie dropping a few weeks prior. Nevertheless, Veeze and Boat trade the spotlight like they trade verses, as the smoothly-shot LL video finds balance in simplicity and playful lighting.
While Veeze is still riding the high and success of his debut album GANGER, he’s been locked in the studio, recently sharing the long-teased “F*cked A Fan” with Rylo Rodriguez. Boat’s dominance, again, should not and cannot be understated. Since “Poland” dropped in 2022, the Atlanta MC has traversed through a plethora of genres, going “left” on albums in Let’s Start Here and BAD CAMEO with James Blake. Features on “stayinit” with Fred Again.. and most recently “Die For Me” with Jean Dawson continue to illustrate the importance of Yachty’s stature as one of music’s most versatile (and surefire) hitmakers.
Whatever Lil Yachty touches turns to gold, and he isn’t sorry about that — even amid comments about just listening to Jay-Z’s The Black Album for the first time. He’s always a student of the game; melding, morphing and making songs that will stun and surprise time and time again. It’s more clear than ever that he can’t be stopped.
