It was reported that Jay was transported to a local Bogalusa hospital by helicopter along with his father, where the rapper was said to be in critical condition. Prior to the announcement from Bogalusa PD, his sister and other family members took to social media to debunk rumors of his death. However, he eventually succumbed to his injuries, as Say Cheese TV initially reported that Jay “had trouble breathing” in the aftermath of the shooting.

According to TMZ, the incident occurred at approximately 6 p.m. on Wednesday night. BPD reported the crime as a double shooting via press release, but did not release the names of the victims at that time.

Youngan rose to prominence in the late 2010’s off the back of hits in “Opps,” “23 Island” and “Elimination.” He has a total of 14 official projects including June 2020’s Baby23. He released his latest project All Is Well EP in March of this year.

Rest In Peace to JayDaYoungan.
