Lucki and F1LTHY wake up new listeners on ‘WAKE UP LUCKI’

After years of being called “the underground king,” Lucki is finally getting the recognition he deserves. Joined by producer F1lthy, the Chicago-bred rapper flexes and finesses all over his new joint mixtape, WAKE UP LUCKI.

Releasing a new single and video for “NEPTUNE V.S INDUSTRY” off the project last week, Lucki is more in his element now than ever before. Teasing the project with a video on social media Monday (Nov. 29), he initially spoke on the project during his OGM exclusive interview over the summer.

Lucki has been dropping consistent heat since 2013, with a trademark sound that has seen tons more love from not only his hometown, but from all over the world. With minimal collaborations and a one-of-a-kind creative process, Lucki is truly one of the most self-made artists out now, as he looks to double down on his do-it-yourself sound on hus full-length offering.

Earlier this year, Lil Yachty showed appreciation for the artist with a collaboration titled “Greed.” Boat adapted seamlessly to Lucki’s laid-back cadence as the duo slid on the track’s chill instrumental. In April, fans received a cool two-pack from Lucki with “LifestyleBrazy” and “No Joke.” Both songs are high-energy bangers with heavy 808s as Lucki keeps on with his relaxed delivery. “4Ever Ever” followed a few months later, featuring the underground veteran on a Zaytoven beat.

He keeps the same energy on “NEPTUNE V.S INDUSTRY” and all throughout WAKE UP LUCKI, as black-and-white visuals depict the utter semblance of Lucki’s underground successes and flexes within industry life. The Chicago based star also released the visual for his track “2019” on Tuesday (Dec. 21).

On its lead single, Lucki speaks on how he feels about the mainstream and his ability to deliver despite a lack of attention and playlist traction. He is a prime example of why some artists do better catering to their fan base rather than pedaling to the masses.
