Mac Miller’s legacy is everlasting in every way, as his camp continues to keep it alive with tasteful and timely releases that celebrate his inimitable presence in music.
As one of the most beloved late vocalists of this generation, Miller’s impact is immeasurable amongst music’s new era of superstar talent. Off the back of rereleasing his critically-acclaimed mixtape Faces in October 2021, Miller’s estate has now brought his 2011 project I Love Life, Thank You to all digital streaming platforms Friday (July 22).
I Love Life, Thank You is the sixth mixtape in Miller’s all-time discography. Upon its release over a decade ago, the Circles emcee started his “Road 2 a Million Fans” series — releasing a new song for every 100,000 Twitter followers he accumulated. On Oct. 14, 2011, he released the 13-track project upon reaching 1 million followers. Seven of its 13 tracks were previously released throughout the course of his fruitful social media campaign.
This is the third mixtape Miller’s camp has packaged for DSPs since his passing in 2019 — refurbishing K.I.D.S., Faces and I Love Life, Thank You all within the past year. Miller’s evolution as a true musical multi-hyphenate has ultimately shaped the mold for the next wave of artists, as Miller is revered as one of the most honest, heartfelt and creative lyricists of our time.
With the viral, multi-portrait mural in his native Pittsburgh reaching completion this week, it seems to be a perfect time to bask in Mac’s legacy once more.
