Megan Thee Stallion returns with new single ‘THOT SH*T’

Megan Thee Stallion ends her multi-month absence from social media for her new single “THOT SH*T,” released on June 11.

On April 22, Megan announced on all social platforms that she would be taking a momentary break from social media. For Instagram, she posted a few animations of her resting in a recharging chamber to depict her stepping away from social for the time being.

Along with this announcement came some cryptic messages alluding to Megan Thee Stallion having something special for her fans when she returned.

Meg reappeared in surprising fashion, referring to herself as Tina Snow once again (the alter ego she used in her 2018 project Tina Snow) and announced that she would be releasing her newest single this week.

“THOT SH*T” is Megan Thee Stallion’s first solo release since she dropped her debut studio album Good News in Nov. 2020. The album featured some of hip-hop’s brightest mainstream stars in DaBaby, Lil Durk and Young Thug — along with amazing vocal performances from Beyoncé and SZA.

Good News debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart and it’s single “Savage (Remix)” featuring Beyoncé reached #1 on the Hot 100 chart. Other songs like “Girls in the Hood” and “Cry Baby” featuring DaBaby both peaked at #28 on the Hot 100, showing Megan Thee Stallion could succeed in many different stylistic facets of hip-hop.

Megan Thee Stallion’s new era is upon us, and she picks up right where she left off.

“THOT SH*T” is an energetic, boastful banger where Meg flexes on her verses about VVs, Birkins, Grammys and a college degree. On the hook, she gives her hotties something to twerk to with the repetitive:

Hands on my knees, shakin’ ass, on my thot shit

Hands on my knees, shakin’ ass, on my thot shit (Thot shit)
