Crafted at a producer camp powered by Thunderbird Extracts last month in New Mexico, “calm b4 the storm” is spearheaded by underground technician 5heriff – who’s produced a handful of viral cuts with D Savage, Lil Candy Paint, Taylor Bennett and more. Together, they create a firework-bursting jam, ringing in the new year on a high note.
Laced with swooning guitars and bouncy 808s, the singer-rapper’s signature rasp ultimately leads in his evolution trending towards a raw, revitalized sound. Backed by the historic backdrop of New Mexico’s stunning Organ Mountains — much like how Wyoming has proven to be a creative hub for Kanye West – “calm b4 the storm” brews a full-form metamorphosis for the Texas-based artist.
Alongside the new track, Mike shared the visual for his highest-streamed song “KNOW ME BETTER” this week. Directed by Cameron Nichols, he and featured act JayD roam the streets of Austin, Texas, turning up on UT’s campus, snagging a bite of hotpot and leaping throughout a trampoline park, among other activities. The video has already eclipsed 2,000-plus views — a testament to Michal’s growing success in the underground space.
