Quavo, Offset and Takeoff’s live performance on NPR Tiny Desk’s was quintessentially Migos in every way. Backed by a live band to perform tracks from their latest album Culture III, the group lounged in a lavishly decorated room with huge lamps, a mannequin astronaut, a tie-dye couch and a large birthday cake.
Quavo led the group’s first track “Avalanche,” as the Atlanta trio followed up with the lead single off the project, “Straightenin,” as the energy in the room turned up instantly.
Candles were lit on the cake as the third and final song, “Birthday,” had the group dripping in autotune over a club beat. Infectious hooks combined with their classic flows meshed perfectly with the live instrumentation, giving new life to the tracks.
This performance follows yet another notable appearance from the Migos on the Summer Jam stage, where they brought out a pregnant Cardi B. As concert venues begin to open back up, they are sure to continue putting on these spectacular shows.
