Mike Dean’s newest signee SASH pops out with first project

Super-producers Mike Dean and Apex Martin have been preparing to show the world their latest venture, a brand-new label called Apex Sound. To help administer this launch, Dean and Martin finally revealed their hard work in the form of their first signee’s debut project.

Both producers have focused their label on specializing in shorter releases of up to six tracks, making for concise works that emphasize quality over quantity. So under this premise, up-and-comer SASH dropped his latest EP Bittersweet on Dec. 2, giving fans the first look at Apex Sounds’ roster.

SASH brings a combination of laidback vocals and earworm melodies that pair perfectly with Dean and Martin’s styles of ethereal, synth-heavy instrumentals. The result of this is six tracks full of soothing lullabies like “m.i.a.” mixed with energetic crooning on tracks like “midas touch,” showcasing a wide range within the 14 minute run-time.

This project will not be the first of its kind, as Mike Dean and SASH revealed in an interview with Apple Music, claiming that there will be a new release for every quarter.

Just three weeks prior to his Apex Sounds debut, SASH dropped first single off the project “lemon sorbet,” giving fans the first taste of his easygoing vocals combined with Mike Dean’s signature synths. Visuals for this track give a cinematic look at the city lifestyle, giving a perfect backdrop to the moody cut.

SASH, Dean and Martin share a vision on Bittersweet, demonstrating what the new label is capable of with a fantastic introduction into their process. As they continue to push positivity in their newest venture, fans should be thrilled to see what they have cooking next.
