When Real Bad Man exclusively locks in with an artist, you know it’s about to be something special.
Previously tapping Boldy James for their collab album Real Bad Boldy in 2020, Pink Siifu is the latest to link up with the revered producer — dropping his latest full-length project Real Bad Flights on Friday (Sept. 16).
Leading in the album with its first single “Looking For Water,” Siifu posted the project a few days early on Bandcamp as a “bootleg.” Ahead of RBF‘s official release, though, “Looking For Water” with Boldy is the pinnacle of Siifu’s ability to put his personality on full display — drawling off a residual, off-kilter flow over RBM’s relaxed yet fleeting instrumental.

Speaking with The FADER prior to its release, Siifu said he’s sharing his perspective of the “risk and rewards” that come with daily life on “Looking For Water.” “Play your cards / Can’t show your hand / There’s money on the table” he loosely spits — unlocking Boldy’s trademark track presence that sees him swerve over the comfort of a Bad Man beat.
Overall, the album majorly resonates with the aforementioned sonic elements found on “Looking For Water” — seeing Siifu slide over the grandiose aura that Bad Man has become famous for. On early highlights in “Off The Plane,” “Real Bad Gospel” and “Pour The Wine,” Siifu’s perspectives are as enigmatic as his performances on RBF.
“‘Looking for Water’ is just about somebody looking for a way out or a way to get what he need from tha morning to tha night, but from my perspective. Risk and rewards and tha other bull shit that comes w tha day to day. Floatin but grinding at tha same time.”

Amid his new project, the prolific 29-year-old singer-rapper also lended his vocals to Kenny Beats’ debut album Louie this month. Known for his monstrously sized LPs, the longtime lyricist initially broke through in 2018 with his solo debut Ensley. Sharing collaborative tapes with Fly Anakin, YUNGMORPHEOUS and AKAI Solo over the course of 2019-2021, his second true solo effort, Negro Deluxe, reasserted Siifu’s undeniable ploy for genre-less intent — allowing his creativity to flourish under his whimsical sonic umbrella.
Earning a co-sign from A$AP Rocky after playing his track “Griptape’!!” in an Instagram Live — which appeared on his latest LP GUMBO’! in March — the LA-based enigma is triumphantly coming back for seconds in 2022.
With Real Bad Man as his co-pilot, Siifu’s Real Bad Flights is truly a “real good” listen.
