It’s Valentine’s Day and artists around the world are feeling the love and dropping tracks left and right. In honor of the holiday, megastar duo Silk Sonic drops a brand new cover of Con Funk Shun‘s classic “Love Train.”
The cover was announced with a short press release stating how beloved the original song was to both members. Originally, the track was released on Con Funk Shun’s 1982 release To The Max and it remains one of the group’s most popular songs.

The new cover comes just after one-half of the duo, Anderson .Paak, surprised everyone with an appearance at Super Bowl LVI. Paak was showing off his immaculate drumming abilities during Eminem‘s “Lose Yourself,” but his widened grin was instantly recognizable to those who caught a glimpse of him. His cameo was a welcoming shock for fans and contributed to the overall “wow” factor of the performance.
Silk Sonic’s cover of “Love Train” marks the duo’s first new drop since the release of their debut album An Evening with Silk Sonic. Soon, they will appear at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards where their chart-topping single “Leave the Door Open” is nominated for both Record and Song Of The Year.
