Following her debut album, Over It, in 2020, Summer Walker has taken the time to develop both her sound and herself. After a bit of hiatus stemming from her pregnancy, the gifted singer returns with “Ex For A Reason” featuring JT from City Girls.
Summer and JT seem keen on leaving the past in the past, as they flow over the track’s bouncy, infectious instrumental. The duo expresses their willingness to fight for a quality man as Summer croons melodically while JT spits absolute bars in her verse.
Visuals for the track depict Summer and JT kicking it with their friends as the man of their dreams plays games.
Summer used this opportunity to promote her upcoming sophomore album, Still Over It, which is set to release Nov 5. Though the City Girl-assisted single, her first solo drop of the year leads in from guest appearances on tracks with Sam Smith, DRAM and Young Rog.
