Ty Dolla $ign assists Oliver Tree on ‘Life Goes On’ remix

When it comes to an artist like Oliver Tree, he is extremely hard to categorize. His music touches many different genres — whether that be pop, rock, punk, hip-hop, he’s uncontainble to one sound.

Recruiting Ty Dolla $ign for a remix on one of his most popular tracks “Life Goes On,” Tree continues to grow his social media virality and left-of-center sound within the industry.

While Tree has been in the spotlight for quite some time now and has acquired fans from all corners of the globe — even collaborating and dropping an EP with Russian music group Little Bighe’s still relatively unknown. Famous for his qualms with Anthony Fantano and polarizing interviews with major publications like Genius, Tree is a wild card in every aspect of his life — and that’s not always a bad thing.

“Life Goes On” was originally released in 2020 on the deluxe edition of his latest album Ugly is Beautiful. Since the release of the single, Tree has released two different remixes to the song — both of which came within the last month. Now adding the multi-platinum, grammy-nominated artist Ty Dolla $ign, it gives the track an entirely new feel.

Rather than the song kicking off with Tree’s distinct, indie-inspired voice, we are greeted by the smooth and melodic tones of Ty Dolla $ign. For the rest of the track, it’s business as usual as Oliver takes back full control of the track — freely harmonizing over its simple yet catchy production.

Recently announcing his North American tour “Cowboy Tears” which kicks off on Feb. 19, 2022, in Los Angeles, he also mentioned that he is currently working on his new album which is similarly titled Cowboy Tears.

The tour will hit over 20 different cities and will finish towards the end of March. Unfortunately for fans, Oliver says this may be his last tour and last project ever.

Simply put, Tree has established himself as one of the rarest entertainers music has seen in recent years — elevating himself to widespread acclaim on social media due to his immersively artistic videos. With so much talent and one-of-a-kind sound, it’s no wonder why his fanbase continues to support Oliver regardless of what’s on the surface.
