Although entrapped in the daze of a “Love Rage,” Vince Montage makes the stressful sound soothing on his latest single.
On “Love Rage,” which dropped last month (Jan. 12) on all digital streaming platforms, Montage connects the feelings of road rage into the tragic demise of a relationship. Mirroring the deep cuts of being blinded by lust, lines like “I cut you off now you mad you ain’t in front of me” and “they turned me into the person that you drove me” display Vince’s affinity for weaving together tattered emotions that resonate on first listen.
Spearheaded by 3 Away Projects, the Miami native is seen going through the ebbs-and-flows of a relationship, for better or for worse. “You make love tragic,” he croons on the bridge, as the track’s coinciding visual depicts Vince at the center of angst and frustration — using “Love Rage” as a vessel for sonic serenity.
Akin to the early, emo-rap stylings of The Kid LAROI, Montage’s artistic beginnings took shape when he 14 years old. With previous tracks like “I Like” (which is produced by the legendary Scott Storch), “Light Switch” and “First Pick,” among the handful of others he’s released over the past two years, it’s clear the now 17-year-old Montage has a distinct vision he’s set out to craft in his music. Prioritizing intention over social-first, fast-fleeting tracks, “Love Rage” — as well as “I Like” and “Light Switch” — prove that Vince Montage is building something for the long haul.
Art may be in the eye of the beholder, but potential can be spotted from a mile away; Let Vince convince you with “Love Rage.”
