Kenny mason freestyle: Atlanta up-and-comer Kenny Mason has been on a tear since his 2020 debut project, Angelic Hoodrat. Releasing its follow-up, Angelic Hoodrat: Supercut, this past spring, Mason is one of those artists that turn heads almost immediately.
With his brash mix of hardcore rock and Atlanta trap, the 26-year-old rock-rapper finds balance in grungy alternative and acrobatic bars alike. He’s able to sing angst-filled ballads about loneliness like on “Handles,” while also offering fast-spitting raps like on his breakthrough single “Hit.”
Mason’s eclectic combination of sounds labels him as an outlier from his hometown’s historic trap roots. However, as his sound is all his own, he finds comfort in being that difference maker — staying true to the artist he’s always been.

Both Angelic Hoodrat and Supercut garnered high praise across a majority of fans (receiving co-signs from Tyler, The Creator, Billie Eilish and others) and music publications such as Rolling Stone and Pitchfork — penning distinguished reviews for both projects.
Now, as he joins Kenny Beats on his show “The Cave,” his sound is on full display for viewers — witnessing the true power of Mason’s ability as not only a rapper-freestyler, but as an artist through and through.
