Simply put, everyone showed out on this track, interpolating the iconic moments of its original version on each verse. Nardo raps his verse with vicious intent through gritted teeth, using his signature sound effect drawls for further texture in the track. Durk followed up Nardo with descriptive lyrics about his opposition and flexes his status for all those inferior.
21 drops one of his coveted verses on the track next, reminding listeners how he pioneered a new wave of savage music. Herbo seems to be a fan favorite, jangling his chains in his verse while spitting his beloved Chicago-bred flow over the track’s hard-hitting instrumental.
Visuals for the remix are handled by Cole Bennett and his team at Lyrical Lemonade. Cole really went all out for this star-studded track, with “Who Want The Smoke??” warranting a full-fledged war zone set.
A posse cut of this caliber seems to have been long overdue. Nardo is a prime newcomer — already dropping five singles this year — putting himself in an even better position following tracks in “Knock Knock,” “Pull Up” and “Shhh” as well as a Nick Mira-produced collab project in the works.
Until more news of a full-length project from the Florida-based up-and-comer breaks, here’s a playlist of some of his best tracks to date!
