YSL’s Strick takes off with Young Thug, Kid Cudi in ‘Moon Man’ music video

On Young Stoner Life‘s April collective album Slime Language 2, the label and frontmen Young Thug and Gunna searched for compelling features with one goal in mind: curate hits.

Attempting to be more commercially expansive than 2018’s Slime Language, YSL recruited exciting acts like Drake, Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, Future, NAV and many others for their latest project.

Among these marquee guests was Kid Cudi on the album’s ethereal track “Moon Man” led by YSL’s up-and-comer Strick and head honcho Young Thug. Five months after its initial release, Strick and YSL dropped the “Moon Man” music video with Thugger and Cudi Thursday (Sept. 9).

The visuals show the trio lounging, smoking, making music and enjoying pancakes on their psychadelic trip in their RV. Directed by Zachary Bailey, the video features groovy effects and obscure, trippy settings for the track that can be similarly described.

Kid Cudi and Young Thug are a vibrant, melodic duo that fans didn’t know they needed until they saw it happen. Cudi’s show-stopping verse halfway through the track continues to display his relevance and uniqueness in the rap game. His presence is so appropriate, because you certainly cannot have a track titled “Moon Man” without the ‘Man on the Moon’ himself.

Strick is the unsung hero of the track with a dominant and catchy hook, setting the stage for Thug and Cudi to continue fleshing out the song’s vibe in the verses. Successfully fulfilling their role in their group project, YSL only adds to its ever-evolving allure with captivating visuals much like “Moon Man.”
