It’s clear that 070 Shake has been one of the most unique voices in music over the past several years.
Creating an impressive catalog and working alongside hip-hop titans like Kanye West, DJ Khaled, Lil Yachty and more, she adds to her prolific resume yet again — combining her talents with Opium superstar, and arguably 2023’s hottest artist, Ken Carson, on “Natural Habitat” (Nov. 10).
070 Shake’s latest effort follows her September single “Black Dress,” as both tracks are slated to be part of her forthcoming album in 2024. Collaborating with Carson, the duo seamlessly blend their distinct sounds to create an immersive, out-of-body listening experience. Shake’s euphoric vocals build anticipation to a crescendo, complemented by Ken’s clever auto-distorted flow. With such a unique, upbeat tempo and otherworldly sounds, “Natural Habitat” is the type of song you’d hear in a film, video game, or movie trailer; a total cinematic happening.
“Natural Habitat” is an inkling to the type of sound 070 Shake is eyeing on her forthcoming LP. Sharing You Can’t Kill Me in June 2022, packed with pain-stricken verses and raw emotion that vibrates listeners’ hearts, Shake’s year has been quite subtle considering she’s only shared a pair of tracks. The G.O.O.D. Music star’s unnamed third studio album looks to be another fully expressive escapade.
Carson’s scorching 2023 was built off of a slew of features and his latest album A GREAT CHAOS in October. The record peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 and debuted with 47,000 first-week units — the highest of any Opium signee. Carson and the label are also set to kick off The Antagonist Tour on Nov. 19 in Ireland, returning to the States in early 2024.
