24kGoldn, Travis Barker’s new track is stuck ‘In My Head’

Fans of San Francisco native 24kGoldn have been patiently waiting for him to drop another full-length album following El Dorado last summer. Now, he returns with legendary drummer Travis Barker for a new single “In My Head” — a country-rock fusion with enough rapping to still qualify as hip-hop.

Both 24k and Travis don’t let genre barriers confine them. With a pop-rock guitar melody and Barker’s iconic blink-182 drumming skills bumping in the background, 24kGoldn croons an energetic pop-centric verse for the first half and follows up with a more country delivery for his second wave of lyrics.

You remind me of my first car (Skrrt)

A little rough around the edges (Nah)

And came straight from Texas, yeah (Yeah)

You used to be my lone star

You took away the stressin’

And all the second guessing”

24kGoldn — “In My Head” feat. Travis Barker

Visuals for the track bring the imagery of the lyrics to life as 24k fawns over a lost love while little animated 24kGoldns run around in his head. The single saw its first premiere on the popular video game Roblox through a virtual concert featuring a digitized 24kGoldn.

Prior to this single, 24kGoldn released a variety of collaborations with production supergroup Internet Money, pop singer Bailey Bryan, Chinese artist LAY and more. Similarly, Travis has been keeping his name in the mix since his busy 2021 with production credits on tracks with iann dior and most notably Machine Gun Kelly.

As he looks to ramp up in 2022, the “Mood” singer is preparing himself to go on tour for the month of May with fellow Bay Area artist Lil Bean and Bailey Bryan. If this single is any indication to his direction with his upcoming effort, fans are in for a sunshine-filled summer with 24kGoldn.
