Happy birthday Donny! DC The Don celebrates his 24th birthday in style with the release of his latest single “Tell Shyanne.”
A shimmering, sultry R&B cut that sees the Milwaukee-born star’s vocals take centerstage, Donny croons about locking down a new squeeze (Shyanne). Still employing his trademark, auto-laced flows, “Tell Shyanne” is a refreshing change of pace from the bombastic “Stop Hatin” in July. The 2023 XXL Freshman also teased a remix featuring Iayze. “Tell Shyanne 2” would be a near perfect crossover considering Iayze’s dance-pop EP, The Top Kid Show, and Donny’s latest efforts into alt-pop sounds.
This is DC’s second single since his enigmatic performance on FUNERAL this past May. Alongside touring with $NOT, Eem Triplin and Night Lovell on the “Get Busy Or Die” tour, Donny rocked crowds at both Summer Smash and Rolling Loud Miami for the first time in his career. Taking in both sets in Chicago and Miami, it’s clear that Donny is destined for more festival spots. It isn’t a true DC show without him jumping down from the stage and into the pit — dapping up and hugging fans along all sides of the rail.
With a handful of projects on the way (SBSN, WISCONSIN, The Rumors Are True, REBIRTH), spin the birthday boy’s latest hit in the meantime. Let us know when DC misses, because it doesn’t seem likely.
