DC The Don enters ‘Zombieland’ on latest single

All year long, DC The Don fans have been eating well. But, even after delivering an album, multiple singles, music videos and snippets already in 2022, Donny is ready to go even harder heading into the final stretch of the year.

On Sept. 23, DC dropped “Zombieland,” his third single since his February album My Own Worst Enemy.

“Zombieland” was first teased in summer 2021, and has been sought out by fans ever since. Produced by trap legend Maaly Raw, most notable for his work crafting hits with Lil Uzi Vert like “Money Longer” and “Shoota” with Playboi Carti, the new cut sees Maaly and Donny establish excellent chemistry immediately.

Over the groovy beat, Donny shows no remorse for his apathy, justifying his selfishness to a significant other. Accepting his “narcissistic” mindset, he looks for any distraction he can to avoid catching feelings.

She hate the way I been practicing abstinence

But I didn’t want your heart, I stole that on an accident

I got a double cup, I fill with Actavis

That Promethazine kickin’ my ass

I been up for three days and it’s sad, baby

I can’t give out no trust and it’s bad, baby

Each verse between the hook about how his girl keeps “trippin” on him introduced new flow and rhyme patterns, as the nearly-four-minute track once again exemplifies the skill DC has on a mic, regardless of the genre he tackles or subject matter he covers.

Following up his early August single “HATE IT OR LOVE IT,” “Zombieland” is likely the second promotional single for his upcoming album. Although he has stated plans for projects titled Rag3Kidd Funeral and Stop Being So Nice, along with a MOW3 deluxe, it is currently unclear which tape he will roll out and drop first. But, regardless of his plans, Donny is cranking out elite music with each new release.
