New year, new JID.
Ringing in 2024 with a fiery new offering titled “30 Freestyle,” the fresh-pressed track features production from Tane Runo, longtime collaborator Christo and the prolific Conductor Williams, who’s run with Griselda, Drake (“7am in Charlotte”) and others in 2023 have brought his signature sound to new heights.
The new track also underscores a slew of new music from JID in 2024, including his highly-anticipated joint project with Metro Boomin and a solo effort reportedly titled Forever & A Day. Dreamville’s golden voice took to social media this week alluding to a fruitful year ahead.
“Imma just drop music all year and see what happens,” he wrote on X. “30 is fye, just raw raps about whatever came to my head. I’m excited about music and inspired/blesssed to be doing this…”
Prior to “30 Freestyle,” JID dropped off the beloved unreleased “Van Gogh” with Lil Yachty and “Half Doin Dope” featuring BabyTron in September. Touring with Smino on their “Luv Is 4Ever Tour”this past year, JID’s third studio album The Forever Story was not only a moment for the former football star turned emcee, but a celebratory occasion depicting his ascension as a lyrical savant of an entire generation.
Amid acclaim and cultural currency, he remains grounded through it all — endlessly inspired for what’s ahead.
