Zillakami’s ‘DOGBOY’ meshes rock and rage on new album

Zillakami has released his first solo album Dogboy. His debut LP features 15 tracks and clocks in at 31 minutes long.

Debuting at No. 2 on Spotify’s Top 10 Global chart, DogBoy’s introduction flows perfectly into Zillkami’s rap-rock verses, offering yet another high quality project from the City Morgue star — and his first on his own.

The album contains Zillakami’s typical metal infused production on songs like “Chewing Gum” and “Lemon Juice.” One of his heroes in Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor even appears on the intro track to welcome listeners to the project.

However, tracks like “Hello” allow him to show off a more emotive, softer side while still retaining his rock roots. Overall, Zilla turns in his most eccentric performance yet, as his brash mix of melodics and heavy guitar licks fittingly emulates his artistry.

Zillakami drops tracklist for debut solo album ‘Dogboy’

Just a few days away from his highly-anticipated solo debut, Zillakami has unveiled the tracklist for his debut solo effort Dogboy.

The album includes 15 songs with four of them already being previously released. The third collaboration between Zillakami and Florida rapper Denzel Curry “BLEACH” is sure to be the song fans and newcomers alike flock to first.

Those who repeatedly listened to the snippet for the song only have to wait just a bit longer before they can finally hear the full track when Dogboy drops this Friday.

Fans of City Morgue’s Zillakami don’t have to wait too long for new music from hip-hop’s resident metalhead — as his debut solo album Dogboy drops in less than a week.

Slated for release Sept. 17, the album has been preceded by its rock-heavy singles in “CHAINS,” “BADASS ft Lil Uzi Vert,” “FROSTY” and “Not Worth It.” Its tracklist has yet to officially release, however, snippets have been brought to light with alleged tracks of “Cowboy Bebop” and “Bleach” — featuring frequent collaborator Denzel Curry. If their past songs like Vengeance and DRAINO are any indication, it will be another aggressive, energetic hit.

Although he is known for his hard-hitting tracks like “SHINNERS13,” he has lately been experimenting with a more melodic sound. The single “FROSTY” features more singing than rapping — as Zilla has alluded to the album featuring a mix of his two styles. Fans can expect a variety between the two moods if snippets for songs like the aforementioned “Cowboy Bebop” are for this album.

His partner and City Morgue member SosMula also just dropped his first solo record back in August. His album, 13 SONGS 2 DIE TO 2, did feature Zillakami on “BOOGALOO” — with SosMula expected to return the favor on Dogboy. With both members dropping their debuts, the wait for their next joint project may not be so far off.

Just a few days away, Zillakami’s solo debut has the potential to grow his fanbase to the next level.
