Baby Kia, Lazer Dim 700 team up for menacing single ‘WYG’

If you’ve been keeping up with Atlanta’s recent surge of rising stars, you’d know that both Baby Kia and Lazer Dim 700 are at the forefront of its new wave.

Much like how Ken Carson and Destroy Lonely embodied the stark, vampire-esque wave Playboi Carti ignited with Whole Lotta Red, ATL’s latest run of brash, raw enthusiasm can be attributed to both of these buzzing rookie. Renowned for their unique sound and distinctive styles, Kia and Lazer team up for a thrustful new collaboration “WYG.”

“WYG” sits at a quick two minutes long and is fueled by a heavy, orchestra-styled instrumental. The track kicks off with Baby Kia’s aggressive vocals and almost angry tone as he seamlessly complements the production’s intensity. Midway through “WYG,” we are greeted by Luh Twan’s quick-witted, heavy twang and his beloved, fast-paced flow that sounds as if he recorded the verse while in a rush. The duo also teamed up for a pairing visual as the two artists are seen chilling in front of their whips and at an apartment complex with their crew.

This is Kia and Lazer’s first-ever collaboration after meeting at Summer Smash this past June, with both artists celebrating the release of their debut projects HELL CAN’T SAVE YOU and INJOY this past year. With all the love and praise “WYG” is receiving, it’s easy to assume that this will be the first of many collabs between the ATL tandem.
