Bobby Shmurda has been making up for lost time after his release from prison back in February. Dropping a steady string of singles over the course of the past month, his newest track “Splash” showcases the NYC native diving into a different soundscape.
As a stark contrast to his previous tracks, Bobby’s aggressive yet low volume delivery tears up the high-energy beat. Visuals for the track show the New York rapper living his best life as he throws a massive pool party with countless women.
This marks Bobby’s second video since his release, with the first coming in October. “No Time For Sleep (Freestyle)” brought the focus back to his career as he rapped for six and a half minutes over an ominous instrumental.
Just last week, fans received “Cartier Lens” — introducing an auto-tuned Bobby with his classic cadence taking a back seat.
As Bobby continues to release more music in anticipation of a full-length project, these last few songs have strayed from the sound fans gravitated to seven years ago — clearly experimenting to keep up with the times.
