Chief Keef makes a triumphant return with his new single

Chicago drill legend Chief Keef is undefeated with his original sound that has inspired countless artists over the last decade, never relying on anyone else to solidify his legacy.

His latest single celebrated his 27th birthday upon its release on Monday (Aug. 15), and also acknowledges the number of monikers Sosa has accumulated over the years.

Narrating his life in the third-person, “Chief So” hears Keef incorporate the song title in every line, spitting about his underdog status at the beginning of his career and the success he’s seen since. This single follows the triumphant drill sound that has been a staple of hip-hop as a whole.

“Cause, I’m G to the L to the O, Big Glo
Chief So, dodgin’ potholes in a red Ghost
Chief So, smokin’ Citgo not a Primo
Chief So, stackin’ Doritos, stackin’ Pringles”

Chief Keef — “Chief So”

His 2021 album 4NEM received rave reviews from listeners and critics alike, proving that even 10 years since his breakout project Finally Famous, Sosa will always be an integral part of street music.

Fans will have to wait and see whether this track ends up on his 43B debut project, though at this time, we have no news of an upcoming project from Chief Keef.
