After Coi Leray previewed a snippet of “Fly Sh!t” on TikTok last month, it immediately caught fire.
Much like a handful of her 2021 singles in “TWINNEM” and “No More Parties,” “Fly Sh!t” had a takeover of its own on the app, as fans grew impatient waiting for its official release. Finally, on Sept. 9, the 25-year-old Boston native dropped the official version of “Fly Sh!t,” meeting the high expectations it garnered.
Produced by Marqueze Parker, Taylor Hill, and TBHits, the song’s instrumental brings bouncing 808s and a flute melody similar to some of DaBaby‘s greatest hits. In the chorus, Leray delivers a high-pitched R&B hook, showcasing her polished vocals for those who forgot she could also sing.
Ridin’ a foreign, my trunk in the front
Neck, wrist bussin’, it’s lit like a blunt
Shut down the mall, get whatever I want
Ten racks for a fit, only wear that sh*t once
“Fly Sh!t” – Coi Leray
As Leray’s first single since appearing as a feature on “Hold Me Down” by 42 Dugg, part of CMG The Label‘s July compilation project, “Fly Sh!t”‘s hard-hitting bars and versatility validate Coi’s star-power. At this point, it feels like every track Leray previews seems to immediately blow up across social media. If she keeps pumping out addictive tracks like “Fly Sh!t,” her fan base is bound to grow as she does as an artist.
