Cordae announces a second album dropping this year: ‘New era, coming better than ever’

On March 19 in Sacramento, California, Cordae triumphantly wrapped his nationwide tour for his sophomore album From A Bird’s Eye View.

After a stunning Coachella performance this past weekend, it seems as though the buzzing Maryland emcee is already turning the page on his FABEV chapter — locking in for his second album of 2022.

On Tuesday (April 26), Cordae began to lay out his plan for his next project, which he announced will arrive at some point this year. On his Instagram story, he confirmed this new era would be his best in his career.

Then on Twitter, he stated that he would be writing and recording his next album — yet to be given a title, cover art, track list or release date — in its entirety at his mother’s house in Maryland.

As a potential farewell to his FABEV era, Cordae dropped the music video for the eighth song on the album “C Carter” Wednesday (April 27) — inspired by the legendary Samuel L. Jackson basketball movie Coach Carter. In the video, he is literally “his biggest hater,” acting as himself as well as a troll that slanders him at every opportunity.

“C Carter” is the sixth song off the album to receive a music video, with “Chronicles” featuring H.E.R. and Lil Durk being the most recent track to be gifted visuals.

While there are still plenty of details and steps to be taken before Cordae’s next phase of his career commences, it’s thrilling to know that it will arrive before year’s end.
