Drake announces October World Weekend Festival

Following the release of his seventh studio album Honestly, Nevermind, Drake took to Twitch on Monday (July 11) with French Montana to reveal that he had a “big announcement” coming this week.

After showing his appreciation for the support of his new album and the love he’s received, Drake said: “I’m back [in the studio] going crazy… I’m in a different bag right now.” Less than a month after the release of Honestly, Nevermind, the most streamed artist ever returned with more exciting news.

On Wednesday (July 13), Drake confirmed that he is bringing OVO Fest around the world in 2023 for its 10th anniversary — taking to Instagram to announce the October World Weekend. Hitting the road from July 28 through Aug. 1, Drake wants to “turn the city up for the summer.”

Earlier this year, British rapper Dave brought out Drake as a surprise, as the Honestly, Nevermind crooner revealed that OVO Fest would be returning to Toronto. After Rolling Loud announced that it would also be stopping in Toronto this year, it’s only right that Drake and OVO Fest would also make a comeback to the 6ix.

Bringing along Chris Brown, Lil Baby, Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj for a “Young Money Reunion,” Drizzy’s latest moves come off the back of teasing his highly-anticipated mixtape Scary Hours 3. With much more from the 6 God in store, it’s safe to say that Drizzy is taking over the summer in one way or another.

Tickets go on sale this Friday via Ticket Master.
