Future’s rollout for INLY continues, dropping off the visual for his track “HOLY GHOST” on Wednesday (June 29).
As the 13th track off Future’s Billboard chart-topping album, I NEVER LIKED YOU (which dropped on April 29), this is the fifth visual offering from the formerly No. 1 record, following ‘KEEP IT BURNIN‘ with Kanye West, “WAIT FOR U,” “PUFFIN ON ZOOTIEZ,” and his Feb. 14 single “WORST DAY” — which was saved for the deluxe album.
The essence of Future’s album is a direct link to its title, being a toxic and relentless confessional towards his ex-lovers and enemies. The album features multiple high profile appearances — the most notable with Drake. While the LP is an ironic letter to Future’s exotic love life, tracks like the aforementioned collaboration with Ye and “HOLY GHOST” serve as warning shots to anyone in Future’s way, while also showing off his expensive and glamourous lifestyle.
The video itself for “HOLY GHOST” takes place in Little Havana — the historic, landmark neighborhood in Miami, Florida. Future is, at various times of the day, in different sections of the neighborhood. Throughout the video, he is seen kicking it with the locals — donning lavish clothing amid the vibrancy and color Miami’s well-known nook.
Rolls key, pass the Lambo key, and the other key
Truck key, not the sedan key, that’s the other key
Wiped down, cleaning my cars in the rain, I got OCD
Dry it off, pouring out rain and he tryna dry it off
Slide off, I got a foreign bitch at my hideout
Real talk, niggas ain’t speaking the language I talk
‘HOLY GHOST’ – Future
The entire video feels real and down to Earth, which is ironic considering the song itself is grand and massive. While “HOLY GHOST” flexes the lavish lifestyle Future resides in, he isn’t afraid to tap back in with his roots apart of the people.
