This single follows his two previous releases so far this year — “Lay Wit Ya” featuring Memphis MC Duke Deuce and “200/Warning”. Fans are being blessed left and right with singles from the Chattanooga rapper, foreshadowing the release of his upcoming full-length project, The House is Burning.
Rashad also appeared on his long-awaited episode of The Cave with Kenny Beats to drop a luxurious freestyle over a lavish beat from the critically-acclaimed producer.
Over the last few years since his last release, Isaiah praises Top, CEO of Top Dawg Entertainment for his support during trying times. In a recent Billboard interview, he credits Top with keeping him afloat when he was in his darkest place prior to finding the light at the end of the tunnel.
Rashad’s forthcoming LP, The House is Burning, finds him in a completely new headspace — free of his vices and on the path to bigger and better. He is a fantastic representation of the ability to emerge victorious from a long and strenuous battle with one’s demons — overtly shown in the quality of releases listeners have received. For someone to go through the lows that he went through following the height of his stardom, it’s an inspirational sight to see him back on his grind and finding his way.
Zay has always been selective about his collaborators, so seeing a song with viral sensation Duke Deuce was surprising yet refreshing. The Memphis music scene clearly appeals to the TDE rapper, as he claims his project “won’t be complete” without a Young Dolph feature. Other artists he has been in the studio with recently include Kenny Beats, Smino and 6LACK, with Isaiah also teasing fans with a SZA collab.
It seems as though TDE is getting ready to use their secret weapon as Isaiah drops hit after hit in preparation for his newest album.
