In the time since her viral hit “LOVE SONGS” (2020) exploded on TikTok, Kaash Paige has become a “Superstar” in her own right.
Alongside collaborations with Travis Scott, Don Toliver, 6LACK, Alicia Keys and more, the Dallas native has emerged as an infectious voice filled with laid-back flows and swagger dripped to the nines. Her new album, Catch Me While I Care (May 10), not only celebrates her creative freedom as an independent artist, but showcases her larger-than-life personality — living in the moment above all.
Charting as the No. 6 Electronic album on Apple Music at the time of this writing, Catch Me While I Care brims with versatility and replay value. Holding 13 tracks and features from SSGKobe, OnlyBino! and The Big Hash, Paige shines on an album packed with sonic twists and turns.
Deviating from her signature R&B soundscape, a rock anthem in “Waterfalls,” new wave trap in “Kool Kids” with Kobe, a pair of dance remixes from acclaimed producer ZANNEN and stomach-turning EDM drops on “Rolling Stone,” ‘Die Young” and more, Kaash “just wants to dance” — letting her newfound independence guide her to a boundless creative space. On Catch Me While I Care, no sound is off limits, or too “left field” for Paige.
In the visual for the record’s lead single “SUPERSTAR” (shot by 6KJEFE), Paige surrounds each frame with lavish cars, gorgeous women and the lifestyle that embodies the prototypical superstar — immersing you in the fast-lane an icon lives. “I’ve been raging, I’ve going through different phases,” she raps. “I’ve been going back to my old ways, back on my bullsh** again.” Coming up as an R&B artist, “Superstar” highlights Paige’s prolific vocals more than anything — whirring over bombastic, airy production that embodies stacking “Kaash” as high as she can. Simply put, she’s the life of the party.
Leading in the record with a string of singles over the course of 2023-24 (“ISSUES,” “TEMPTATIONS,” “WATERFALLS,” “SKITZO” among others), Catch Me While I Care is Paige’s first full-length album since 2022’s S2ML and 2020’s Teenage Fever. While Kaash’s dynamic range continues to settle into rotation, it’s clear that the 23-year-old multi-hyphenate came correct wit bangers that are built to last in any setting.
