Kodak Black’s ‘Super Gremlin’ secures No. 6 spot on Billboard Hot 100

After a rather tumultuous start to 2022 — being arrested for trespassing on New Year’s Eve — Kodak Black seems to be getting back in the swing of things.

The “Tunnel Vision” rapper has become a mainstay for fans over the years, as his landmark project Painting Pictures acted as a soundtrack to Summer ‘17. Dying To Live (2018) was a reassertion of Black’s bonafide star power, recruiting the late Juice WRLD on “Moshpit,” Offset and Travis Scott on “ZEZE,” and even earned an endearing co-sign from Drake.

However, following a four-year prison sentence that former President Donald Trump commutated last January, he’s been on a climb back to the top since.

As the Sniper Gang artist managed to bounce back musically in 2021 — dropping projects in Haitian Boy Kodak, a birthday EP Happy Birthday Kodak and a handful of singles — his comeback tour now features a Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 track in “Super Gremlin.”

Stemming from Sniper Gang’s collaborative LP released in October, “Super Gremlin” soared into the 10th spot on the Billboard Hot 100 last week (Jan. 11). Now rising to No. 6 on the coveted songs chart, this is Black’s third appearance on Billboard following “Tunnel Vision” (No. 6) and “ZeZe” (No. 2).

Drake praised Kodak’s success and legacy in a recent Instagram Live, as the Toronto-bred mogul previously gave Kodak his flowers following his 2019 record Dying To Live.

“You really all that for this generation and the next one if we being honest,” Drake penned. Kodak later pinned the message during his IG Live stream, obviously flattered from Drizzy’s comments.

As Kodak rises to the top of the charts once more, best believe 2022 is his year to take over.
