Lil Yachty surprisingly hops on Tame Impala’s ‘Breathe Deeper’

Lil Yachty has always been known for his openness for collaboration. From EDM artists such as Diplo to R&B singers like Kehlani, Yachty has proven his chops throughout many genres over the course of his career.

On Oct. 6, the last thing Boat fans expected was a remix of ‘Breathe Deeper’ by well-respected psychedelic one-man band Tame Impala.

Yachty really makes this song his, dropping three verses on its ethereal instrumental. Tame Impala or Kevin Parker’s original hook remains, giving the audience some transition between Yachty’s relentless crooning.

Tame Impala is no stranger to working with hip-hop artists, with production credits on songs by Travis Scott, Kanye West, A$AP Rocky and Kid Cudi. “Breathe Deeper” originally appeared on his 2020 album The Slow Rush, a collection of trippy disco tracks that received high praise across music.

Lil Boat himself has had a busy year to remember with the release of Michigan Boy Boat and Birthday Mix Vol. 6. His recent features for DDG, Lil Tecca, Remble and Lucki all have been welcome additions to his discography.
