After Playboi Carti failed to appear at Rolling Loud Thailand due to travel issues, he pulled out all the stops at RL’s flagship festival in Miami.
Not only was Carti tasked with shutting down Rolling Loud on Sunday night (Dec. 15), but unveiled a flurry of new songs off his upcoming album, I AM MUSIC. Previewing a total of five tracks on stage, sharing a CDQ snippet of his joint with Travis Scott titled “CRUSH” on Instagram shortly after, Cartimania reaches peak once again as his rollercoaster, two-year long rollout continues.

After electric festival sets at ComplexCon and Camp Flog Gnaw, Carti has been relentless in his efforts to build up I AM MUSIC. Previewing “BACKDOOR A MF” produced by Kanye West on his IG story, shared a HQ CDQ of the fan-favorite snippet “YOUNG VAMP LOVE” and dropping “All Red” and his latest single “PLAY THIS,” Carti is nowhere finished letting off new tracks.
“IM NOT DONE AT ALL DIS SUM COOL SHT I WANTED YALL TO HEAR BC I LOVE DIS SONG,” he wrote. “BUT DA SHT DATS ON MY ALBUM OVERLY TRIMM.” Carti commented this in another IG story, further stoking the fire I AM MUSIC is burning: “IM LOCKED RN OVERLY TRIM I TOLD 5 I WANT YALL TO HEAR DIS MF 2 WHAT WE DOIN.”
It’s inevitable I AM MUSIC arrives in 2024, especially with the ceaseless “2024 Music” marketing he continues to push. And with only a few Fridays left, time is ticking.
