Just about two weeks after the tragic demise of one of hip-hop’s most beloved SoundCloud era figures, it appears law enforcement have identified and apprehended the person responsible.
Although PnB Rock had already been laid to rest, and his streams had seen a massive spike on DSPs, LAPD was still on the case for suspects involved in the 30-year-old’s murder. However, on Wednesday (Sept. 28), they believe they found their guy.
The 17-year-old son of a man named Freddie Lee Trone was arrested in connection to PnB Rock’s murder, per TMZ. It is currently believed that the teenager was responsible for not only robbing PnB of his jewelry at the Roscoe’s Chicken N’ Waffles restaurant in LA, but also for shooting Rock and eventually slaying him.

Immediately afterwards, he hopped in the getaway car which was being driven by his father Trone, who has still yet to be arrested for his involvement. TMZ also reported that the father-son duo were already parked at the restaurant in the getaway car before PnB Rock and his girlfriend arrived, which would eliminate any suspicion that PnB’s partner posting her location on Instagram led to his death.
Likely due to being a minor, the murder suspect’s name has yet to be released, although LAPD released a photo of Freddie Lee Trone so that they could receive tips regarding his whereabouts. He is currently still on the run.
