Rich Homie Quan inches towards upcoming album with new single ‘Risk Takers’

When Rich Homie Quan arrived onto the Atlanta trap scene in 2012 with his debut mixtape Still Goin In, listeners instinctively knew that they had a star on their hands. Although the following decade has been turbulent, the highs Quan has reached on his journey with hits like “Type of Way” and “Lifestyle” are forever etched into the fabric of hip-hop history.

Now, nearly a week away from the 10-year anniversary of Still Goin In, Quan is ready to deliver his first project since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. On Sept. 16, the ATL icon dropped “Risk Takers,” the second promotional single for his upcoming album Family & Mula.

Produced by Dun Deal, most known for crating hits like the A$AP Mob posse cut “RAF,” Migos‘ “Hannah Montana” and Young Thug‘s “Stoner,” the melancholic trap beat sees Quan delve into heart-wrenching topics, such as the perseverance required to get back on his feet.

“Risk Takers” — Rich Homie Quan

“Risk Takers” first debuted on Thursday (Sept. 15) as part of the From The Block YouTube series created by 4 Shooters Only. The live rendition delivered by Quan sees the most emboldened, passionate side of the 32-year-old.

Along with this release, Quan announced that he will be performing at Tabernacle Stadium on Sept. 27 in Atlanta to celebrate the 10-year any of the start of his career. Tickets for the show are available here.

Family & Mula is set to release in October, and “Risk Takers” gives a glimpse into the vulnerability Quan could insert into the LP.
