ScHoolboy Q’s love for the game of golf has seemingly grown more and more these past few years. His golf journey began in 2019, when a member of his crew challenged him to a bet — and all Q had to do was sink a birdie for $10,000.
In less than 10 rounds, he was able to make a long putt for his cash, and since then he has been hooked to the sport — playing whenever he gets a chance. Most recently he played alongside professional golfers at the PGA Tour AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February.
On Thursday (April 7), the artist appeared in a Nike commercial alongside Tiger Woods, which aired during the first round of The Masters, golf’s most prestigious event.
The timing couldn’t be more perfect as this tournament marks Woods’s first appearance in a professional event since his car accident in February of 2021, which left him with a broken leg that required surgery.
The commercial cuts between clips of Q golfing and a montage of some of Tiger’s greatest moments. Narrated by Q, he asks a simple question: “What would you be willing to do to chase your dream?”
The commercial goes on to show all the things Tiger has had to go through while chasing his dream, like being a minority in golf, coming back from injuries and winning on the greatest stage.
Nike has always been on the forefront of change in the sports world and this commercial echoes that sentiment, showing that you don’t have to be born with a silver spoon to enjoy the game of golf.
