Staten Island’s own Wolfacejoeyy strikes again, keeping rotations hot with his first offering of 2024 titled “wya.”
Released on Jan. 10, the atmospheric sexy drill single sees Joey tear off lustful similes that seemingly spit game from every angle. Its coinciding visual (Jan. 12), is a quirky, fun-loving story that sees Joey hold a trio of balloons pining for his squeeze.
“Posted in the back / she act like a Barbie, she a Brat… she wanna see me at Nite like Nick,” Joey softly sing-raps, bolstering the twinkling, club-laced pocket he’s helped popularize over the course of 2023.
With efforts like “Tylenol,” “buku,” “GOMD,” “Anita” and his debut mixtape 22Joey (produced in collaboration with Whereis22), the 21-year-old new wave heartthrob is looking to level up in 2024. Marked by a relentless consistency — sharing a total of 15 singles just last year alone — a debut album seems due in the new year.
As if co-signs from SoFaygo, Chow Lee, Cash Cobain and more weren’t enough to put you on, remember this when the year comes to end: Wolfacejoeyy will be THE artist you wish you knew earlier. Expect more from Joey — and OGM (hint hint) — later this year.
