Since the release of his magnum opus Whole Lotta Red, Playboi Carti has been on a blazing feature run. Hopping on nearly two dozen tracks such as “Type Sh*t,” “FE!N” and “CARNIVAL,” Carti has been unstoppable on the mic despite his lack of a full-length project after almost five years. As we look toward the release of I AM MUSIC, we can only cling to his guest verses still waiting for it to drop.

“I LUV IT” — Camila Cabello
In March 2024, Camila Cabello surprised fans with “I LUV IT,” an electronic experience that was a departure from her typical pop-bent style. The song prominently samples Gucci Mane’s 2009 hit “Lemonade” and features 16 bars from Playboi Carti. Clad with his distinctive, deep-voiced ad-libs, “I LUV IT” was one of those collabs that made you think “does Carti even work on a song like this?” Short answer, he does, showcasing that his energy is malleable to any sound he chooses (it’s what makes him great). Floating over Cabello’s iridescent hyperpop production was a challenge Carti met with open arms—marking an undeniable (recent) collab in his catalog.
“Timeless” — The Weeknd
Released in September 2024, after first being previewed at a sold-out Weeknd concert in São Paulo, Brazil, “Timeless” proved that the Weeknd-Carti duo was unmatched. Put together by a cracked team of producers—from Pharrell and Ojivolta to longtime Weeknd collaborator Mike Dean—the track triumphantly set the tone for both Abel and Carti’s albums (I Am Music and Hurry Up Tomorrow), as it reigns as one of the most “timeless” features in Carti’s post-WLR catalog.
“Blick Sum” — Latto
This one of Carti’s more lengthy and impressive guest verses in recent memory. Linking up with fellow ATL native Latto for a track that was supposed to come out months ago (originally appearing on Latto’s Sugar Honey Iced Tea), Carti made up for lost time and delivered a verse full of clever lines (“I told Latto, put ‘em in a hole, put ‘em in a casket”) and infectious charisma that keeps your head bobbing. It helps that this beat is a quintessential I AM MUSIC era gem, sounding like a cousin of “Type Sh*t” only with more flair from Carti on the mic. “Switching Lanes” — Pi’erre Bourne
“Switching Lanes,” from Pi’erre Bourne’s 2021 album The Life of Pi’erre 5, is a testament to the long-term chemistry between the producer-turned-rapper and Playboi Carti. The track features production from Pi’erre, who produced the majority of Carti’s first two albums. It’s rare to see a producer-turned-rapper, and more rare when they make as big of an impact as Pi’erre has.
“Fuk Sumn” — Ye, Ty Dolla $ign, Playboi Carti & Travis Scott
Released in February 2024 on the first Vultures 1 album, “Fuk Sum” brings together the 00CACTUS duo (keep an eye out for “CRUSH” this year as well), Playboi Carti and Travis Scott, with Ye and Ty Dolla $ign. Produced by a legion of hitmakers, including Timbaland and JPEGMafia, the track was the standout off Vultures 1, alongside “Carnival,” which earned Carti his first-ever No. 1 hit on the Billboard 200. Ranking “Fuk Sumn” over “Carnival” was easy; the latter was too much of a rollercoaster (high highs and low lows).
