Anderson .Paak drops ‘Fire in the Sky’ for new Marvel movie soundtrack

“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” is the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero film, which released on Sept. 3. Along with that came the movie’s soundtrack the same day, executively produced by 88rising, the label who uplifts Asian R&B and hip-hop artists like Rich Brian and Joji. Included in the project was the charming sixth song “Fire In The Sky” by Anderson .Paak.

“Fire In The Sky” clocks in at a little under three and a half minutes, and is a peaceful love song where Paak shows off his smooth, easily discernible singing voice. Over the instrumental from the band comprised of a piano player, guitarist, drummer and bassist, .Paak glides with cute predictions about a potential significant other.

All I wanted was just to lock down the love of my life

Lights in, simple, like a midnight drive

Watchin’ fireworks in the sky

I’m calling it now, I’m calling it now, I’m calling it now

You’ll find love with me somehow, yeah, somehow

“Fire In The Sky” — Anderson .Paak
