As fans reeled from the unexpected return of the UK-based band, they doubled down on the surprises by dropping “New Gold,” the first track from the project with features from Tame Impala and Bootie Brown from Pharcyde.
Additional appearances from Thundercat, Stevie Nicks, Bad Bunny, Beck and Adeleye Omotayo make for an unsurprisingly high-quality cast of guests as Gorillaz is set to bless us with their eighth studio album. Despite all of the details revealed, fans still have a wait until it drops on Feb. 23, 2023.
Their previous LP Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez consisted of psychedelic instrumentation and a variety of features, ranging from West Coast emcee ScHoolboy Q to worldwide legend Elton John. Their track record speaks for itself as they build hype for their next star-studded release in a long discography of classics.
