Jay-Z is featured on two tracks for Netflix’s latest feature film ‘The Harder They Fall’ starring Idris Elba, Regina King, Lakeith Steinfeld and more.
It’s been close to a decade since Jay-Z and Kid Cudi have been on a track together. However tonight, their long hiatus comes to an end.
The pair reunites on “Guns Go Bang” for the soundtrack off Netflix’s latest feature film The Harder They Fall. The project includes two new Jay-Z songs — the first with Kid Cudi and the second, “King Kong Riddim,” with Jadakiss, Conway the Machine, and BackRoad Gee. The Jay-Z executive-produced soundtrack also features appearances from Lauryn Hill, Koffee and many others.
Cudi handles “Guns Go Bang’s” hook with instantly recognizable hums as Jay raps about revenge and his drug-dealing past. The lyrics pair perfectly with the theme of the film which deals with an all-black gang of cowboys seeking revenge against those who wronged them.
“Guns Go Bang” marks the first time Cudi and Hov have hopped on a track together since 2011’s Watch the Throne. After all this time apart, the track showcases that neither artist has lost their step, getting right back into the swing of things effortlessly.
Posse cut “King Kong Riddim” — touting guest spots from Conway The Machine, Jadakiss, and BackRoad Gee — features an incredible verse from Jay, matching up to Conway and Jadakiss’ lyrical prowess and ultimately offering a tandem of rap excellence packed into a single track.
The Harder They Fall is set to premiere on Netflix Nov. 3.
